2004 Foundation of Endofakos Ltd in Greece

Endofakos Ltd is founded with the aim of serving the medical technology market in Greece, with a particular focus on ophthalmic consumables.

2010 Renaming to IOLART

A new corporate identity is introduced, alongside the development of modern facilities equipped with upgraded infrastructure. The new premises are designed to support both product storage and distribution with greater efficiency.

2013 Landmark partnership with Cristalens

IOLART establishes a landmark strategic partnership with Cristalens, a leading French intraocular lens manufacturer, taking on the exclusive representation of its full product range in the market.

2018 Expansion into the public healthcare sector

IOLART expands its activity into the public healthcare sector, building collaborations with hospitals across the country. At the same time, the company strengthens its sales department with additional team members, supporting the effective management and further growth of these new partnerships.

2019 Launch of Artis Symbiose Mid & Plus IOLs

In 2019, IOLART further strengthens its expertise in Premium intraocular lenses, focusing on the correction of presbyopia and astigmatism. A notable milestone was IOLART’s participation in Cristalens’ newsletter titled “OUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS WITH ARTIS SYMBIOSE® IS BASED ON 5 KEY INGREDIENTS”, where the company shared its experience and know-how from a successful product launch.

2022 Hosting the 2nd Cristalens Academy in Athens

IOLART, in collaboration with Cristalens, hosts the 2nd Cristalens Academy in Athens, bringing together international speakers and promoting the exchange of knowledge and cutting-edge technologies in the field of ophthalmology.

2023 Partnership with Teleon Surgical BV Netherlands

Through this partnership, IOLART strengthens and expands its portfolio by adding the EDOF category — Extended Depth of Focus intraocular lenses with a segmental design.

2024 2nd place in Sales Growth 2022–2023

IOLART is recognized with 2nd place in Sales Growth for the 2022–2023 period. The award was presented within Cristalens’ partner network, where IOLART stood out among distributors for its outstanding performance and continued upward trajectory throughout 2023.

2025 Addition of phacoemulsification systems

In 2025, IOLART expands its portfolio with the addition of phacoemulsification systems, strategically broadening its field of activity. By incorporating instrumentation, the company now offers comprehensive solutions for cataract and vitreoretinal surgery, further strengthening its position as a trusted partner in ophthalmology. At the same time, the sales department is reinforced with the addition of a Clinical Specialist, providing meaningful support for the clinical and commercial development of the new portfolio.
